Check out 1876

Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s been a busy week for me BUT was able to dive into @1876bourbon the Port Barrel Finish. These were finished in Napa Valley Port Barrels. If you’re are a fan of anything port take a look at this one. This one would be a good pairing with @luxurycigarclub cigar for sure.

Bottle ~ 1876 Straight Bourbon Whiskey in Port Barrel Finish. Proof 85% 42.5 ALC

Color ~ Reddish Amber so rich and colorful

Nose ~ Well, you know I’m going to talk about the grapes. Also, cinnamon, grains and little butterscotch. For sure you’ll grab the wine 🍷 scent all day.

Palate ~ Like a party in your mouth with this one. You’ll grab some molasses, and you almost get Welch’s grape 🍇 juice BUT the best was I pulling some pecans. The pecans perfect balance and separation.

Finish ~ Medium length which to be expected. Hits a little bit harder than an 85 proof which caught me by surprise. The best in the finish is the oil just costs the mouth and those sweet pecans just linger.

My review ~ If you’re looking to a good port bottle but not sure where to start. I would recommend this one, it’s a low proof but with a lot of surprises. Cheers everyone!
