Monfleurie Cognac

Since January, I have been waiting to taste this Cognac but didn't get a chance for personal reasons. The bottle has been staring at me for over a month, tempting me and calling my name. The day finally came, and I was able to indulge in its elegance this past weekend. Below is my review of this exquisite masterpiece.

The Cognac:

Monfleurie is made from Grande Champagne grapes in collaboration with Maison Boinaud. The Boinaud Family has been passing the tradition of single estate cognac making for 24 generations. Boinaud cellars have one of the world’s largest Grande Champagne reserves in the world. The liquid in the bottle originated from a 1960 harvest. It’s blended with hundreds of Eaux-de-vide hand-picked from the Maison Boinaud cellar.

The Decanter:

Just look at this beautiful piece of art. This is an exquisite decanter that can be used long after the liquid inside the bottle has been used. The hand-blown crystal decanter, to me, represents a combination of modern spirit & beautiful craftsmanship. It’s captivating, chic, and luxurious! Don’t you think?

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Notes of Jasmine and violet with aromas of cinnamon and dry apricots. Overwhelmingly rewarding and very distinct floral notes bouquet.

Taste: Very smooth and elegant yet complex, great sensation on your palate with a slight citrus and crème brulee. Get some cinnamon and baking spices also.

Finish: Something exceptional to savor. A magnificent rich taste with unique aromas. It has a long-lasting finish that lingers in your mouth like a sweet memory.

Final Thoughts:

I am truly mesmerized from start to finish, from the packaging, to the decanter and to the beauty of a cognac that is Monfleurie. It is a must-try for any cognac aficionado.
